Filming & Editing Final Cut

After watching back our edit of the rough edit, we decided that it maybe wasn't the best footage or the best editing. Our footage was shaky because we hadn't used the tripod correctly. Therefore myself and sam decided to redo the entire project again.

We storyboarded and planned entire new story as quickly as possible but made sure it was planned enough so that when it can came to filming we could do it quickly and effectively.

We did most of our outside filming within a few hours in lesson time and other filming in lunch times as it became closer to the deadline. The filming was a lot better this time as we made sure the tripod was secure and our footage didn't come out shaky like before as this was important to the quality.

We spent a while editing everything we had shot into the correct order, making sure that it all made sense. Then moved things around so that it was more confusing for the audience as that is part of the thriller genre.

Then continued onto adding in effects and transitions to make the it look smoother between shots and also put on some eerie effects to make it look a lot creepier and mysterious.

Some of the effects that we used were dissolves, fades to black and a merge. The merges were used so that two different pieces of footage overlapped each other so that it looks confusing and it looks as if the two scenes relate to one another.

After we had completed all of the editing for the footage, we knew we needed to add in music to add in more effect. We used a website called http://freeplaymusic.com/ as it provides free soundtracks, we used too to add effect to our video because it makes it seem more mysterious and eerie.
